The Efficiency = Output/Input

Most of us know the simple definition of EFFICIENCY, the work done vs. input provided to do that work. We use this term in case going to purchase any technical gadget or motor related product. But sometime the meaning goes beyond the technical boundary and we use it for the efficiency of person. And that efficiency done most important role in career and life. For example Chetan Bhagat is the most EFFICIENT writer.

Now the real story starts and question is how we going to calculate it…? According to me most of the time we miscalculate the efficiency of any person in terms of there personal or professional life. Just take a look.

Few years ago I joined a company as software trainee. I was not the only one who joined there were almost 30 other newbie. There were various people from various location and different technical knowledge.

For me everything was not in my favors such as new location, new language and new professional life. I still remember my 1st training session when I was fully nervous and confused. I could not understand a single word of that extra fatty guy (the trainer…!) first two days I tried to hide myself inside the desk unfortunately 3rd day I couch by the trainer. On 5th day I realized that the job was not for me. I was not up to the mark to attend that training. And that fat, round faced trainer scolded me in-front-of entire class because I don’t know Bengali and the entire lecture bounced through my head. Then he gave around half-n-hour speech about language flexibility and examples like “when I was in ANTARTICCA I use to talk to penguins...” this and that bla bla bla… In my language “Meri Tho Band Baji Hui Thi”

Now something about the other colleague, I found most of the persons were elder than me with good command in computer as well as various languages (accept Hindi) few of them already have job experience enough smarter than me in all aspects. After each fortnight we had half moth assessment test usually I got the last or second last position, but I never gave up.

I start comparing between all the other persons. Try to realize how they think, copy cat their action. Finally the term efficiency came to my mind. After one and half moth we all became good friends and distributed in various groups, I found few of them came from very strong background and they already passed much tougher circumstances than this in their educational or professional life. That training session was nothing in-front-of them cause of that their performance was great and they always got the top rank. I concluded them as most EFFICIENT, but I was miscalculated. How…!

I got the answer at the end of the training, at the time of final test I got the 1st position… my performance drastically accelerated within few months. Yes…! This is true I found few of my very good friends and helping hand those who helped me in enhance my performance and perfection.

Dear friends I don’t know my view is correct or not, the judgment is expected from your review. But I realized the efficiency lack one more factor, called TIME FACTOR. So the Efficiency is ‘the work done vs. input provided to do that work IN LESSER SPAN OF TIME’
